Create Shutdown Button Shortcut on Desktop

Sometime you want to make a faster shutdown your windows xp by creating or making a shutdown button shortcut on your desktop window. With this shutdown button, you only need to click the button shortcut on your desktop and then your windows xp will be shutting down in some second. The steps that you have to do to make a shutdown button are: Point your mouse pointer on the desktop window, then right click on your mouse at your Desktop and create new Shortcut. Then you will see a Create Shortcut window arise with a box of location of an item that you want to make a shortcut.

Type “C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Shutdown.exe –s” without quotes in the popup box. Now when you double click this shortcut that recently created, it will directly give you shutdown message and your computer will shutdown after some second. In default shortcut that you just made, you can customize the shutdown button icon with the original icon. Go to the properties of your shortcut and click change icon tab. Then, select any icons you like and click apply.

With this step, you can also make a restart button on desktop window of your windows xp. Just replace Shutdown.exe –s with Shutdown.exe –r and the address become: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Shutdown.exe –r

You can also make a command in the box of run to shutdown or restart your windows xp by typing Shutdown –s to shutdown your window, Shutdown –r to restart your windows, and Shutdown –a to abort shutdown.
